Create a Custom Flora Variant Pack
Building on Wild Vanilla
Wild Vanilla's 182 custom models and 80 textures provide a foundation for creating your own flora variants. By combining edited models with new textures, you can design plants that fit specific biomes or themes.
Duplicating and Renaming Models
Start by copying existing source models from the pack. Rename them to create new plant variants—for example, creating a "tall dandelion" or "twisted fern" version. Open each copy in Blockbench and modify the geometry to differentiate it from the original.
Texture Customization
Wild Vanilla's 80 custom textures are designed to match standard Minecraft blocks. You can recolor or repaint these textures to create seasonal variants (autumn leaves, winter frost) or biome-specific plants (glowing cave flora, ashen Nether vegetation).
Testing in Your World
Place your custom models into the resource pack folder and reload. Test them in different lighting conditions and biomes to ensure they fit the visual style. Check that colors complement nearby blocks.
Organizing Your Pack
Keep your edits organized by creating subfolders for each biome or plant type. Document which models you've modified so you can track your changes and share them with others.
