How to Become a Werewolf

Getting Infected

You need a Werewolf to bite you. Werewolves spawn naturally at night, and you can also place a Lycanthrope Spawn Egg, Survivalist Werewolf Spawn Egg, Beast Werewolf Spawn Egg, or Alpha Werewolf Spawn Egg to summon one directly. Let it hit you and apply the infection. Survive the transformation period — keep food, a bed, and a safe shelter ready, because the change is not instant and you are vulnerable while it progresses.

Managing the Transformation

Once infected, your form shifts with the moon cycle. Build a Wolfsbane Diffuser to control your transformations. Craft the Wolfsbane Diffuser Core, then combine it with Wolfsbane into a Wolfsbane Diffuser Normal, Wolfsbane Diffuser Long, or upgrade toward the Wolfsbane Diffuser Core Improved. Place the diffuser and load it to suppress or delay the change. Grow Wolfsbane yourself and harvest Wolf Berries from Wolf Berry Bush for related crafting.

After You Turn

As a werewolf you gain claws and night strength but lose control near villagers. Use a Moon Charm to manage your state, and upgrade it with the Moon Charm Upgrade, Enhanced Moon Charm Upgrade, or Special Moon Charm Upgrade. A Wolfsbane Finder helps you locate Wolfsbane in the wild. Wear Pelt armor — Pelt Helmet, Pelt Chestplate, Pelt Leggings, Pelt Boots — or the stronger Dark Pelt and White Pelt variants to survive the nights you spend transformed.
