How to Improve Water Strainer Efficiency

Using the Efficiency Meter

The Efficiency Meter is the tool for measuring how well your strainer setup performs. Craft an Efficiency Meter and right-click your strainer block with it. The meter reports the current efficiency value, which determines loot quality and output rate. Higher efficiency means better drops per strain operation.

Boosting Efficiency with Bait and Fertilizer

Place a Bait Pot near your strainer to influence results. The Bait Pot works with Worm and Super Worm to attract better loot. Add Fertilizer to the Bait Pot to increase its effect. Super Worm provides a stronger bait bonus than regular Worm. Keep the Bait Pot stocked and check efficiency with the Efficiency Meter after each change.

Mesh and Strainer Tier Effects

Mesh type directly affects efficiency. String Mesh gives the lowest efficiency. Iron Mesh improves it. Obsidian Mesh improves it further. Upgrading from a basic Strainer Base setup to a Fisherman's Strainer or Survivalist's Strainer raises base efficiency. Solid Fisherman's Strainer, Solid Survivalist's Strainer, Reinforced Fisherman's Strainer, and Reinforced Survivalist's Strainer provide progressively higher efficiency. Use the Efficiency Meter to compare setups before committing resources to a full upgrade.
