How to Craft a Ward Core
Getting the Materials
A Ward Core is the base component you build every Ward from. Before you can make one, you need a Broken Ward Core. Broken Ward Cores are the damaged remains you recover from the world; collect them whenever you find one, because they are the only starting point for the whole progression.
You also need Enchanted Paper. Enchanted Paper is a separate registry item, so treat it as its own crafting step rather than something you find lying around. Produce a batch of Enchanted Paper first so you are not stopping mid-recipe.
Combining Them
Once you have a Broken Ward Core and Enchanted Paper in hand, open a crafting grid. The mod uses both shaped and shapeless recipes, so if one arrangement does not produce a result, try placing the same items in a different layout rather than assuming you have the wrong ingredients.
The output you are aiming for is a Ward Core. Keep the Broken Ward Core as the centerpiece of the recipe and let the Enchanted Paper supply the magical binding that repairs it.
Why It Matters
The Ward Core is not the final block. It is the intermediate you feed into the next step to produce an actual Ward. Craft at least one Ward Core before you go looking for a place to set up protection, and consider making spares so a failed placement does not send you back to hunting Broken Ward Cores.
