How to Use Lit TNT for Automatic Explosions

Crafting Lit TNT

Lit TNT is pre-ignited and ready to explode without requiring flint and steel or redstone activation. Craft it using the recipe shown in /trigger show_recipes_in_chat. This variant saves time when you need immediate detonation.

Placing Lit TNT

Once crafted, place the lit TNT directly on blocks in your world. Unlike standard TNT, it does not require external ignition. Simply right-click on your target surface to place it.

Detonation Timing

Lit TNT detonates automatically after a short fuse time—similar to standard Minecraft TNT behavior. Move away from the blast radius before it explodes to avoid taking damage.

Strategic Placement

Use lit TNT for rapid demolition tasks where you need multiple explosions in sequence. Place several around an area, then retreat to a safe distance and let them all detonate. This is faster than manually igniting each one, making it excellent for large-scale terrain clearing or mining operations.
