Optimize Shader Performance for Smooth Gameplay
Identify Performance Impact Areas
Access shader settings and look for performance-related options. Cinematic Rays Shaders typically includes toggles for ray quality, bloom resolution, and foliage detail. Start by disabling or lowering the most demanding features if you experience frame rate drops.
Reduce Ray and Bloom Quality
Lower the ray sample count or quality setting to reduce the computational load of cinematic rays. Disable rays entirely in the shader menu if needed—gameplay remains fully functional without them. Similarly, reduce bloom quality or resolution if it impacts performance significantly.
Scale Back Foliage and Lighting Effects
Decrease foliage animation distance so plants only wave when closer to your camera. Reduce the number of colored lighting calculations by lowering light quality settings. These changes maintain visual appeal while freeing up processing power.
Monitor and Test
After each adjustment, play for several minutes in demanding areas—dense forests, large bases with many light sources, or during sunset. Use F3 debug screen to monitor frame rates. Aim for consistent, playable performance. Gradually re-enable features until you find your optimal balance between visuals and frame rate.
