To confirm the shield cooldown visuals are active, equip a shield and have an enemy (or another player) hit you while you're blocking. The shield should immediately turn bright red.

What You Should See

Immediately after taking a blocked hit, your shield texture should display a noticeable red tint. Over the next few seconds, this red color should gradually fade back to the shield's standard appearance. The fade should be smooth and continuous, not sudden.

Troubleshooting

If your shield doesn't turn red after being hit, verify the resource pack is enabled in your resource pack list. Check that you're using a compatible Minecraft version.

If you have respackopts installed but don't see custom color options, ensure respackopts is also properly loaded and active.

The cooldown visual only appears on your own screen—other players won't see your shield change color, so you're tracking your own defense status privately during multiplayer sessions.
