Enhance Water and Ocean Visuals
Enable Water Wave Animation
In shader settings, locate the Water Waves or Water Animation toggle and ensure it is enabled. This setting brings gentle, realistic wave motion to all water surfaces—oceans, rivers, and even water blocks in your builds.
Adjust Wave Intensity and Speed
If sliders are available, experiment with Wave Height to control how pronounced the undulation appears, and Wave Speed to set the animation tempo. For a vintage camera feel, moderate settings work best—too-high waves look unrealistic, while very low settings make water feel static.
Combine with Bloom for Atmosphere
Water reflects light sources more vividly when bloom is enabled. Position yourself near water at sunset or near torches to see how the shader combines soft glowing bloom with animated waves. This creates an authentic early-2000s handheld device photo effect.
Check Performance Impact
Water animation is generally lightweight on low-end systems, but if your frame rate dips noticeably near large water bodies, reduce wave height or disable the feature entirely. The soft shadows and VHS effect alone still convey the retro aesthetic without water movement.
