Adjust the VHS Glitch and Bloom Intensity

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the key bound to shader settings (typically accessed through your graphics or mod menu). Look for the Vintage Digital Glow section to find bloom and distortion controls.

Fine-Tune Visual Effects

Locate the Bloom Strength slider to control how much light sources glow. Lower values create a subtler effect, while higher values intensify the vintage camera look around torches, lava, and the sun.

Find the VHS Distortion or Screen Glitch option to adjust the intensity of the retro screen artifacts. Reducing this value minimizes scan lines and color shifts if they feel too strong, while increasing it enhances the authentic early-2000s handheld device aesthetic.

Apply and Test

After adjusting sliders, the changes apply immediately. Move to different lighting conditions—bright daylight, dark caves, and water surfaces—to see how your settings affect the overall look. If the effect feels overwhelming, dial back bloom first; if it feels too subtle, increase both bloom and distortion together for a cohesive vintage appearance.

You can save multiple preset configurations if your shader supports them, letting you switch between subtle and heavy VHS styles depending on your mood.
