Troubleshoot Performance Issues While Using Vice Wave
Identify Performance Bottlenecks
Vice Wave adds visual complexity through enhanced lighting and water reflections. If you experience lag or frame drops, shader settings are the first place to adjust.
Reduce Shader Quality
Look for quality presets (often labeled Low, Medium, High, Ultra) in shader options. Switching to a lower preset reduces:
- Reflection resolution and accuracy
- Shadow detail and distance
- Water wave complexity
- Ambient light calculations
Disable Expensive Features
If presets don't help, disable individual features:
- Water reflections: Turning off sky/terrain reflection in water saves significant performance
- Shadows: Reducing shadow distance or disabling them entirely improves frame rates
- Ambient occlusion: Disabling this darkening effect can boost FPS
Lower Game Settings
Shaders interact with render distance and chunk loading. Reduce render distance or lower graphics settings (clouds, particles) to free up resources for the shader.
Monitor and Test
Make one change at a time and test in different areas. Water-heavy regions and sunsets are good performance benchmarks.
