Work with Voxy LOD Terrain to Maintain Visual Consistency
Understand Voxy Integration
Vibrant Cinematic Voxel is specifically designed to work with Voxy, which renders distant terrain as simplified level-of-detail (LOD) geometry. The shader ensures this distant terrain receives the same lighting, color saturation, and shadow treatment as nearby chunks, preventing visual seams or lighting mismatches.
Configure Render Distance Properly
Set your chunk render distance high enough to see the transition between detailed and LOD terrain—typically 16–32 chunks depending on your PC. The shader should make this transition seamless. If you notice a sudden color or brightness shift at distance, adjust the Distant Terrain Brightness slider in shader options.
Check Lighting Consistency
Fly to a high vantage point and observe the landscape. Nearby mountains should match distant mountains in color tone and shadow direction. The cinematic warm sunlight should feel uniform across all visible terrain. If distant areas look washed out or too dark, fine-tune the ambient light or distant terrain settings.
Validate Your Setup
Build a tall structure and view it from far away. The shader should maintain detail visibility and consistent shading at extreme distances, making massive landscapes feel cohesive rather than fragmented.
