Optimize Water Appearance for Large-Scale Builds

Access Water-Specific Settings

In the shader options menu, locate the Water section. Vibrant Cinematic Voxel includes controls for wave intensity, refraction strength, and reflection detail. These settings directly impact how oceans, rivers, and decorative water features look around your builds.

Balance Waves and Clarity

Wave intensity creates visual movement but can obscure underwater details. For large oceans or rivers, enable waves at moderate strength to add life without making the water chaotic. For decorative pools near buildings, reduce wave intensity so the water remains calm and reflective.

Configure Refraction and Reflection

Refraction bends light passing through water, making underwater terrain appear slightly distorted—useful for realism. Reflection bounces sky and terrain onto the water surface. Both features are performance-intensive; disable them on lower-end systems or enable selectively around important builds.

Test Across Lighting Conditions

View your water features at different times of day. The shader's warm sunlight should create golden reflections during daytime, while nighttime water should remain visible and atmospheric. Adjust settings until water complements your landscape without dominating the frame.
