Adjust Cinematic Ray Intensity and Direction
Control Ray Visibility
Cinematic rays are most visible during sunrise, sunset, and when the sun is partially obscured by clouds or terrain. If rays appear too subtle or overwhelming, access the shader settings through your video options menu.
Fine-Tune Ray Settings
Look for lighting or atmospheric sections in the shader configuration. Most ray-based shaders offer sliders for:
- Ray intensity: Increase to make sunbeams more dramatic; decrease for subtler lighting
- Ray length: Adjust how far rays extend across your view
- Ambient brightness: Balance between ray prominence and overall scene brightness
Rays will be most noticeable when looking toward the sun through particles, water, or fog. Position yourself in areas with:
- Morning or evening light angles
- Dust, rain, or snow particles in the air
- Water surfaces or transparent blocks
- Dense foliage or terrain that creates shadows
If rays seem absent indoors or underground, this is intentional—the shader prioritizes realistic lighting behavior. Move to open sky areas to see the full effect. Experiment with different times of day and weather conditions to find your preferred visual balance.
