Optimize shader performance for low-end systems
Adjust quality settings
Vibrant Cinematic Horizon offers configurable visual intensity. Access the shader options through your Iris settings menu (usually Shift + Z in-game). Look for sliders controlling:
- Volumetric cloud density — reduce this first if you experience frame drops
- Water reflection quality — lower settings disable reflections or render them at reduced resolution
- Lighting effect intensity — dimming cinematic lighting effects frees up GPU resources
- Shadow distance — shorter shadow render distances improve performance significantly
Disable dimension-specific effects
If the Nether or End visuals cause stuttering, you can often disable custom mood lighting for those dimensions while keeping the Overworld enhanced. Check the shader configuration for per-dimension toggles.
Monitor and test
After each adjustment, load a world and observe frame rates in different environments—dense forests, open sky, and water areas stress the shader differently. Make incremental changes rather than disabling everything at once; you'll find a balance between visuals and performance.
