Enhance water reflections in oceans and rivers
Verify water reflection settings are enabled
Open the Iris shader configuration menu and confirm that water reflections are toggled on. By default, Vibrant Cinematic Horizon includes this feature, but it may be disabled if you've customized settings previously.
Position yourself for best visibility
Water reflections are most striking when:
- You're standing at water level or slightly above, looking across the surface
- The sun or moon is visible in the sky
- Nearby blocks (trees, mountains, buildings) are present to reflect
- Time of day is sunrise, sunset, or midday when lighting is dramatic
Adjust reflection quality if needed
If reflections appear blurry or low-detail, increase the water reflection resolution in shader settings. Higher values show more detail but consume more GPU memory. If performance drops, reduce this setting incrementally.
Test in different biomes
Reflection quality varies by water type and surrounding terrain. Ocean biomes with clear horizons showcase reflections best, while rivers surrounded by dense forests may show more subtle effects due to shadow and foliage complexity.
