Adjust sunbeam and lighting intensity for your playstyle
Locate cinematic lighting controls
In the Iris shader settings, find the section for volumetric lighting or sunbeam effects. Vibrant Cinematic Horizon's warm sunbeams are a signature feature; you can scale their prominence to match your preference.
Customize beam intensity and spread
Increase sunbeam strength to make light rays more visible and dramatic, especially in forested areas and caves with openings. Reduce intensity if beams feel overwhelming or wash out block details. Some settings allow you to control how far sunbeams extend into darker areas.
Balance overall brightness
The shader's cinematic lighting can brighten your world significantly. If you prefer darker nights or more contrast, look for:
- Global brightness or exposure sliders
- Night-time lighting multiplier — controls how bright the moon and stars make your world
- Shadow darkness — deeper shadows create more dramatic lighting contrast
Test across times of day
Visit the same location at sunrise, noon, sunset, and night. Observe how sunbeams and ambient lighting change. Adjust settings until the lighting feels immersive without obscuring visibility or making gameplay difficult.
