Adjust Shadow Intensity and Softness

Access Shader Settings

Press the shader settings key (default: O) while in-game to open the configuration menu. This brings up the shader control panel without pausing your world.

Modify Shadow Parameters

Look for shadow-related sliders in the main menu. You can adjust:

  • Shadow softness: Controls how blurred or sharp shadows appear on blocks and terrain. Higher values create softer, more diffused shadows; lower values make edges crisper.
  • Shadow distance: Determines how far shadows render from your position. Reducing this improves performance on weaker hardware.
  • Shadow intensity: Brightens or darkens the overall shadow effect across your world.

Fine-Tune Ambient Lighting

The ambient lighting slider affects how bright shadowed areas appear during day and night. Increase it if caves feel too dark, or decrease it for more dramatic contrast.

Save Your Changes

Once satisfied, close the shader menu. Settings persist automatically across sessions. If you want to reset to defaults, look for a "Reset" or "Default" button in the configuration panel.
