Via Version Plugin translates your newer client to communicate with older servers, but not everything transfers perfectly. The older server's limitations still apply to gameplay.

What Generally Works

• Basic movement, mining, and building
• Combat and inventory management
• Chat and player interactions
• Most vanilla blocks and items that existed in the older version

What May Not Work

• Newer blocks, items, or mechanics introduced after the server's version won't function
• Advanced features like newer enchantments or status effects may be unavailable
• Custom mod content on the server depends on what mods the server actually runs
• Visual effects and animations from your newer client might display differently

Server-Specific Limitations

The server version determines your actual gameplay experience. Via Version Plugin only handles the connection—it doesn't add new features to the older server. Ask your server administrator what version they're running and what content is available to set proper expectations.
