Reduce VHS Distortion and Blur for Better Visibility
Access Shader Settings
Open your shader options menu while in-game. This is typically found in Video Settings > Shaders > Shader Options. Look for VHS44-specific sliders and toggles.
Adjust Distortion Parameters
Locate the distortion or "glitch" intensity slider. Reducing this value will minimize the wavy, warped screen effect that mimics old tape degradation. Lower values preserve more of your world's actual appearance while keeping the VHS aesthetic.
Control Bloom and Glow
Find the bloom or glow intensity setting. Decreasing this makes bright blocks and light sources less overwhelming. This helps when exploring caves or building indoors, where excessive bloom can wash out details.
Fine-Tune Fuzziness
If available, adjust the film grain or noise intensity. Lowering this reduces the grainy texture overlay, making textures clearer without removing the retro feel entirely.
Test Your Changes
Move to different lighting conditions—bright daylight, dim caves, and dark interiors—to ensure your adjustments work across all environments. You can always revert to defaults if needed.
