Make Torches and Lanterns Glow More Noticeably

Understand Bloom Mechanics

Vfx Simple creates glow through its bloom effect, which makes bright light sources emit a soft halo. By default, torches, lanterns, soul lanterns, and glowstone all participate in this bloom.

Increase Bloom Settings

Access your shader configuration and locate the bloom or glow intensity slider. Increase this value to make light sources emit a larger, more visible halo effect. Higher values create more dramatic glowing, especially noticeable in darker areas like caves and at night.

Enhance Lighting Contrast

If bloom alone isn't enough, also increase the overall brightness setting slightly. This makes the contrast between lit and dark areas more dramatic, making your torches and lanterns stand out as beacons.

Place Lights Strategically

For maximum visual impact, cluster multiple light sources together or place them at eye level. Lanterns glow more noticeably than torches due to their larger block size. Soul lanterns create a distinctive blue-green bloom that's especially striking in dark areas.

Test your changes in a cave or at night to see the full effect of increased bloom.
