Adjust Shader Brightness and Bloom Intensity
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the key bound to shader settings (usually accessible through your graphics menu or by pressing a dedicated key). Look for the Vfx Simple Shaders configuration panel.
Customize Visual Effects
You'll find sliders and toggles for:
- Bloom strength: Reduce if glowing blocks like lanterns and torches feel too bright, or increase for more dramatic light glow
- Overall brightness: Adjust if caves feel too dark or if daytime is washed out
- Shadow intensity: Lower values create softer, less defined shadows; higher values make ground shadows more pronounced
- Sky color saturation: Fine-tune how vibrant sunrise and sunset colors appear
Apply and Test
Apply changes and walk around different biomes and times of day to see the effect. Caves, forests, and open areas will show the most noticeable differences. If you're playing on a lower-end machine and experience lag after increasing settings, dial back bloom and shadow intensity—these are the most performance-intensive features.
You can reset to defaults at any time if you're unhappy with your adjustments.
