Optimize Performance on Low-End Computers

Reduce Visual Quality Settings

VerdantLight Lite is already lightweight, but you can make it run even faster. In the shader settings, look for:

  • Path-tracing samples: Lower this value to reduce calculation overhead
  • Shadow resolution: Decrease shadow detail if frame rate is unstable
  • Lighting update frequency: Set to update less often if available

Disable Optional Effects

Check if ambient occlusion or reflection effects can be toggled off. These enhance visuals but consume more resources. Disabling them preserves the vanilla look while improving performance.

Monitor Frame Rate

Use F3 debug screen to watch your FPS while adjusting settings. Make one change at a time and test for 30 seconds before adjusting further. This helps you find the sweet spot between visuals and performance.

Verify Compatibility

Ensure your graphics driver is up to date. Even on older computers, driver updates can significantly improve shader performance. If performance remains poor, confirm your GPU supports the shader's requirements.
