Preview a Vein Before Mining It

See Connected Ore Blocks

Before committing your pickaxe durability to a large vein, you can preview exactly which ore blocks will break together.

Steps:

1. Equip any pickaxe (enchanted or plain)

2. Locate an ore block you want to mine

3. Right-click the ore block while holding the pickaxe

4. Glowing particles will outline all connected ore blocks of the same type

5. The outline shows the exact vein boundaries

What You'll See

The particle effect highlights every ore block that would break if you left-click. This is especially useful for large veins where you want to confirm the vein size before committing durability. The preview respects your current vein mining settings, including horizontal and vertical range limits.

If vein mining is toggled off for your player, the preview will not work—use /veinminer toggle to enable it first.

This preview costs no durability and no resources, making it a safe way to scout before mining.
