How to Craft a Wooden Hammer and Wooden Shovel in Vanilla Plus Tools
Start With the Wooden Tier
Wooden Hammer and Wooden Shovel are the entry point for the mod's tool line. Both are made with the standard crafting_shaped recipe type, so you place ingredients on a crafting table grid the same way you would for any vanilla tool.
To make a Wooden Shovel, arrange wooden planks and sticks in the usual shovel pattern: one plank at the top center and two sticks stacked below it. The result is a single Wooden Shovel.
To make a Wooden Hammer, use the same plank-and-stick materials but in a wider head shape. A hammer head occupies more grid slots than a shovel head, so you will need additional planks across the top row of the grid, with sticks running down the center column for the handle.
Why Craft Both
Craft the Wooden Shovel first if you need quick dirt, sand, or gravel removal. Craft the Wooden Hammer when you want a tool that hits a wider area than a normal tool of the same tier. Both are cheap to replace, so bring spares when mining far from base.
Once you have the wooden versions, you can follow the same layout using stone, iron, gold, diamond, or netherite materials to upgrade. The mod registers a Hammer and a Shovel for each of those six tiers, giving twelve tools total.
