Crafting Every Hammer Tier: Stone, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Netherite

Match the Material to the Grid

Each Hammer in Vanilla Plus Tools uses the crafting_shaped recipe type. That means the shape of the recipe stays consistent across tiers, and only the material changes. The six Hammer items are: Wooden Hammer, Stone Hammer, Iron Hammer, Gold Hammer, Diamond Hammer, and Netherite Hammer.

To craft a Stone Hammer, use cobblestone in the head slots and sticks in the handle slots. To craft an Iron Hammer, swap cobblestone for iron ingots. Gold Hammer uses gold ingots, Diamond Hammer uses diamonds, and Netherite Hammer uses netherite ingots.

Progression Order

Work up the tiers in this order: Wooden Hammer, Stone Hammer, Iron Hammer, Diamond Hammer, Netherite Hammer. Gold Hammer sits between iron and diamond in material rarity but is a separate craft, so make it whenever you have spare gold ingots.

Keep the recipe shape identical between tiers. If your Stone Hammer craft succeeds, the same layout with iron ingots will produce an Iron Hammer. This makes bulk crafting predictable once you memorize one grid.

Netherite Hammer requires netherite ingots, so plan your smithing and ancient debris runs before attempting it. Bring the ingredients to a crafting table and lay them out in the hammer pattern to finish the top tier.
