Using Excavators to Clear Terrain Fast

What Excavators Do

Every excavator in this mod breaks blocks in a 3x3 area, making it a bulk digging tool. This applies to the Wooden Excavator, Stone Excavator, Iron Excavator, Diamond Excavator, and all other registered excavators. The behavior is the same across tiers; only speed and durability change.

Practical Clearing

• Flatten ground: stand at the edge of a hill and dig row by row. Each swing removes nine blocks, so a small hill disappears in seconds.
• Dig foundations: excavators are ideal for basements and foundations. Dig a 3x3 shaft straight down, then widen it.
• Clear sand and gravel: these blocks are annoying with a normal shovel. An excavator clears them in bulk and reduces the chance of suffocation.
• Remove snow and dirt paths: use an excavator to carve roads and paths through terrain quickly.

Durability Management

Because each swing breaks multiple blocks, excavators consume durability faster than normal tools. Bring spare excavators or repair materials. The Golden Excavator is fastest but fragile; the Diamond Excavator balances speed and longevity. For large projects, keep two excavators and swap when one is nearly broken.
