Adjust Depth of Field to Focus on Specific Blocks

Access Shader Settings

Open the Iris shader configuration menu while in-game. You can usually do this by pressing a keybind (commonly O or through the pause menu shader options). Look for the Vanilla Camera Focus CT Shaders settings panel.

Configure Depth of Field Parameters

Locate the depth of field section in the shader settings. You'll find controls that let you adjust:

  • Focus distance: How far from your camera the sharp focus point sits. Increase this value to focus on distant terrain; decrease it to keep nearby blocks sharp.
  • Blur intensity: Controls how strongly the background blurs when out of focus. Higher values create more dramatic blur effects.
  • Focus range: Adjusts how much of the scene remains in focus around your focal point. A wider range keeps more blocks sharp; a narrower range creates a tighter focus.

Apply and Test

After adjusting these values, move your camera around your world to see the effect in real-time. Look at landscapes with varied distances—mountains, trees, and structures—to find settings that feel natural. You can fine-tune further by making small incremental changes and observing how the blur responds to your camera movement.
