Locating Variants in Terralith

With this data pack installed, new pig and cow color variants now spawn naturally across Terralith biomes instead of only in vanilla ones. Search warm biomes like savannas and deserts for different pig colorations, and grassy plains-type areas for cow variants.

Locating Variants in Other Mods

If you're playing with Biomes We've Gone, the same pig and cow variants spawn there too. Check similar terrain types—grassy areas for cows, warmer regions for pigs. The spawning rules now match the biome characteristics rather than requiring specific vanilla biome names.

Tips for Finding Them

Variants spawn at the same rates as regular animals, so you may need to explore multiple biomes to see the full range. Travel between different modded biome types to increase your chances. If you're not seeing variants, verify the data pack is active in your world settings—it should appear in the data pack list when you create or load a world.

Note that variants only spawn naturally; you cannot craft or find them in any other way. Breeding two variant animals produces offspring with mixed traits.
