How to Drink Blood and Get Blood

Drinking as a Vampire

As a Vampire you cannot eat normal food. You must drink blood. The simplest method is to attack a mob or player and feed directly. You can also store blood for later using a Blood Bottle or a Blood Bucket, then drink from the container when hungry.

Collecting Blood

Use a Blood Sieve to extract blood from the environment or from mobs. A Blood Grinder processes blood-bearing materials into usable blood. A Blood Container stores larger amounts of blood. A Blood Pedestal is used to hold and dispense blood in a base setup. Blood-Infused Iron Ingots and Blood-Infused Iron Blocks are crafted from blood and iron and are used in higher-tier recipes.

Pure Blood

Pure Blood is obtained through the Alchemical Cauldron and Alchemy Table processing chain. Combine blood with the required reagents in the Alchemical Cauldron to refine it. Pure Blood is used in advanced vampire recipes and in some curing steps. Keep a stock of Blood Bottles on hand so you always have a portable supply when you are away from your base. If you are a Hunter, you do not drink blood; you use it as a crafting ingredient instead.
