How to Craft an Iron Umbrella

Get the Rod First

Every umbrella starts with a rod. Craft an Iron Umbrella Rod using the standard crafting grid. The rod is the shared base for all sixteen Iron Umbrellas, so make several at once if you plan to build a color set.

Add the Color

Combine your Iron Umbrella Rod with a dye in a shaped crafting recipe to produce the matching colored umbrella. The sixteen Iron Umbrellas are:

• Blue Iron Umbrella
• Brown Iron Umbrella
• Cyan Iron Umbrella
• Gray Iron Umbrella
• Green Iron Umbrella
• Light Blue Iron Umbrella
• Light Gray Iron Umbrella
• Lime Green Iron Umbrella
• Magenta Iron Umbrella
• Orange Iron Umbrella
• Pink Iron Umbrella
• Purple Iron Umbrella
• Red Iron Umbrella
• White Iron Umbrella
• Yellow Iron Umbrella

Place the rod and the dye in the grid, then take the finished umbrella from the output slot. Iron is the entry tier, so this is the cheapest umbrella you can make and the one to practice the pattern on before moving to Gold.

What to Do With It

Hold the umbrella in your main hand or off hand. The color is purely cosmetic — every Iron Umbrella behaves the same. Once you have one working, repeat the same rod-plus-dye step with Gold Umbrella Rod, Diamond Umbrella Rod, or Netherite Umbrella Rod to climb the tiers.
