Catching and Cooking Fish: Perch, Sardine, Red Porgy and More

Fishing gives you a steady supply of protein and several recipe bases. The catchable fish in ValleyCraft include Perch, Sardine, Red Porgy, Saltwater Stoneroller Minnow, Bonefin and Fire Eel.

Catching Fish

Use Bait to improve your catch. Store live catches in Bucket of Perch, Bucket of Sardine, Bucket of Red Porgy, Bucket of Saltwater Stoneroller Minnow and Bucket of Fire Eel if you want to move them between water bodies or keep them fresh.

Cooking Your Catch

Cook fish with smelting, smoking or campfire_cooking depending on your setup. A Brick Stove or Carmine Brick Stove handles smelting and smoking; a Campfire Ring or Campfire Stew Pot handles campfire cooking. Smoked fish keeps longer and stacks well for travel.

Shellfish and Other Seafood

Clam, Cerith Snail and Brown Mussel are also gathered from water. These can be cooked the same way as fish or added to stews.

Storage and Travel

Arrow Quiver and Bomb Bag are not for fish, but a Bento Box is ideal for carrying cooked fish and sides together. Pair cooked fish with Carrot Salad or a BLT for a full meal on the road.
