Decorating Ruins with Bone Piles and Cracked Jars

The Ruin Kit

Valhelsia Structures gives you a small set of blocks that read as decay: Bone Pile, Bone Pile Block, Cracked Glazed Jar, and Cracked Big Glazed Jar. Together they turn a clean build into something that looks abandoned.

Laying Out a Ruin

Start with a floor of Bone Pile Block, then scatter Bone Pile on top for uneven debris. Break the floor line with a Cracked Glazed Jar in one corner and a Cracked Big Glazed Jar in another. Do not place them symmetrically — ruins look better when the damage is uneven.

Add a fallen column using Cut Posts laid on their side, or a broken Bundled Post standing alone. A single Doused Torch or Doused Soul Torch on the ground suggests the fire went out long ago.

Overgrowth

Push the abandoned feel further with Giant Fern and Hanging Vines. Let Hanging Vines drape from a Cut Jungle Post or Cut Lapidified Jungle Post, and plant Giant Fern where the floor has cracked. Hibiscus adds a spot of color that contrasts with the gray of Bone Pile Block.

Keep the palette limited: bone, cracked ceramic, and one wood type. A ruin built from too many materials looks constructed rather than collapsed.
