Full Blocks vs Panes

Metal Framed Glass comes in two forms per color: the full block and the pane. Colors include Black Metal Framed Glass, Blue Metal Framed Glass, Brown Metal Framed Glass, Cyan Metal Framed Glass, Gray Metal Framed Glass, and Green Metal Framed Glass, each with a matching pane such as Black Metal Framed Glass Pane or Cyan Metal Framed Glass Pane.

Use full blocks for large windows, skylights, and greenhouse walls. Use panes for narrow slots, door sidelights, and railings where a full block would look heavy.

Framing a Window

Build the opening first with Posts or Bundled Posts, then fill it with Metal Framed Glass. A common pattern: two Bundled Oak Posts as vertical jambs, a Cut Oak Post as the sill, and Black Metal Framed Glass between them. Swap to a colored variant to tint the room — Blue Metal Framed Glass for a cold interior, Green Metal Framed Glass for a garden room.

Combining with Other Blocks

Metal Framed Glass reads as industrial, so pair it with Brazier lighting and Dungeon Door entrances for a fortress feel. For a softer build, set Gray Metal Framed Glass Pane beside Glazed Jars and Hibiscus planters. Because panes and blocks share the same frame color, you can run a continuous framed line around a room and switch between block and pane at corners without breaking the visual rhythm.
