Reduce Lag from Waving Plants and Foliage

Access Animation Settings

Open shader options and search for plant animation, foliage movement, or wave settings. VableVanilla Shaders separates leaf, grass, and crop animations into adjustable parameters.

Lower Animation Intensity

Reduce the wave amplitude or frequency of plant movement. This decreases the computational cost of animating leaves, grass, and crops without removing the effect entirely. You can often disable specific plant types individually—for example, keeping waving leaves while disabling crop movement.

Disable Animations Selectively

If performance is critical, turn off the most demanding animations first. Grass and crop waves typically cost more than leaf movement. Test each change to find the balance between visual appeal and frame rate.

Monitor Performance

Walk through forests, fields, and gardens after adjusting settings. Check your frame rate in areas with dense vegetation. Make incremental changes until animations feel smooth without stuttering, even on low-end hardware.
