How to Build a Straight Rail Line with the Single Track Builder

Placing the Builder

Lay down a Single Track Builder at the point where your rail line should start. Feed it rails and the block will place track in a straight line as you extend it. Use this when you want a simple one-lane route between two stations without any branching.

Connecting to Stations

At each end of the line, place a Buffer Stop so carts stop cleanly instead of rolling off the track. If you want the line to end at a wall or platform edge, the Buffer Stop is the block that halts movement.

Adding Direction Control

If your straight line needs to feed into a junction later, swap the final segment for an Intersection Rail. This lets you branch the line without rebuilding the whole route. For lines where you want trains to slow before arriving, replace a section near the station with Speed Clamp Rail (0.25 Blocks/Tick) so carts decelerate before the Buffer Stop.

Extending the Line

Keep the Single Track Builder aligned with the direction you started. Each placement continues the straight path. When you reach the far end, cap it with a Buffer Stop and test by sending a cart down the line. If it overshoots, add more Speed Clamp Rail near the terminus.
