Every Useful Hats item — Aquanaut Helmet, Bunny Ears, Chopping Hat, Ender Helmet, Halo, Lucky Hat, Mining Hat, Mushroom Hat, Postman Hat, Shulker Helmet, Stocking Cap, Straw Hat, and Wing Helmet — is produced with a crafting_shaped recipe. Open a crafting table, arrange the ingredients in the exact pattern the recipe book shows, and take the finished hat from the output slot. The recipe book in your inventory will list each one once you have picked up at least one ingredient.

Recoloring with Dye

All 13 hats also have a crafting_dye recipe. Put the hat and a dye of your choice into the crafting grid to change its color. The hat itself is returned, so you never lose the item — only the dye is consumed. This is the fastest way to make a matching set: craft one of each hat, then dye them all the same shade.

Practical Tips

• Craft hats at a crafting table, not the 2x2 inventory grid, unless the recipe fits.
• Store spare dyes near your crafting table so recoloring is quick.
• If a hat occupies your helmet slot, carry a real helmet in your hotbar to swap in before danger.
• Duplicate popular hats like the Halo or Straw Hat so you always have one ready.
