Adjust Shader Brightness for Underground Mining
Access Shader Settings
Open your shader options menu while in-game. Most shader packs store settings in a dedicated menu accessible from Video Settings or directly via a keybind.
Find Brightness Controls
Look for sliders labeled "Brightness," "Exposure," or "Ambient Light." URBANOS RELEASE Shaders includes controls to boost how much light reaches dark areas without washing out your world.
Optimize for Cave Exploration
Increase ambient light slightly to see deeper into shadows while mining. This helps you spot ores and hazards without relying entirely on torches. Avoid maxing brightness—the shader's soft lighting is designed to maintain atmosphere even in dim conditions.
Test Your Changes
Descend into a cave system and observe how shadows and block details appear. Adjust incrementally until you find a balance where you can navigate safely but still see natural depth. Return to the surface to confirm daylight still looks natural and not overexposed.
Your settings persist across sessions, so you only need to configure this once.
