Building a Beach House with Beachgrass and Thatch

Beachgrass Basics

Beachgrass is the plant block for sandy builds, and it converts into Beachgrass Thatch. Thatch is your roofing and wall material, with Beachgrass Thatch Slab and Beachgrass Thatch Stairs as the shaped variants. Harvest Beachgrass from the shore, then process it into Thatch before you start construction so you are not short mid-build.

Roofing and Interior

Lay Beachgrass Thatch as the roof and use Beachgrass Thatch Stairs at the eaves so the edge steps down cleanly. Use Beachgrass Thatch Slab for half-height trim, window ledges, and ceiling detail. For the interior, the mod gives you Chiseled Driftwood Bookshelf and Chiseled River Bookshelf as decorative storage-style blocks, which fit a coastal house better than plain bookshelves. Place a Bedroll inside as your bed. For lighting, use Blue Jelly Torches on the walls and around the porch. If you want stone foundations, cut Coralstone, Coralstone Slab, Coralstone Stairs, and Coralstone Wall at a Stonecutter and run them along the base of the walls. Mix in Chiseled Coralstone or a colored Chiseled variant like Chiseled Brain Coralstone for a feature wall. Keep a stack of Beachgrass Thatch Slab on hand for patching gaps, and extend the porch with Thatch Stairs so the roofline stays consistent.
