Set Up Discord Chat Synchronization

Connect Your Server to Discord

Before starting, create a Discord bot and obtain its token from the Developer Portal, then invite it to your server with appropriate permissions.

1. Place the plugin jar in your plugins/ folder and restart the server

2. Open the generated configuration file (usually in plugins/UniversalChatLink/)

3. Locate the Discord section and paste your bot token

4. Set your Discord channel ID where messages should sync

5. Type /config in-game to verify the connection is active

6. Test by typing a message in-game—it should appear in your Discord channel within seconds

Configure Message Filtering

You can customize which events sync to Discord:

  • Enable or disable player join/quit notifications
  • Toggle death messages and kill alerts
  • Filter chat by player rank or message content
  • Adjust the format of synchronized messages

All changes made through /config take effect immediately without requiring a server restart. If messages aren't syncing, check that your bot has permission to send messages in the target channel.
