Finding Your Ideal Base Location
Scout the Map Systematically
When you first spawn, take time to explore your immediate surroundings and identify what region you're in. Use landmarks—coastlines, mountain ranges, or flat plains—to orient yourself. Travel in one direction for several minutes to get a sense of the terrain variety nearby.
Choose Based on Resources and Geography
Consider what you need for survival: access to water, forest for wood, and open space for building. Coastal regions offer unique building opportunities and access to ocean resources. Mountain areas provide stone and ore but can be harder to build on. Plains regions are easier to construct in but may feel exposed.
Once you've found a spot that appeals to you, mark it mentally or use landmarks you can remember. Build a small temporary shelter nearby to establish your position, then gather enough materials to create a proper base. You can always relocate later if you find a better location—the map is large enough that multiple good spots exist across different regions.
