Building with Ruined Bricks, Flywood and Rosewood

Stone Variants

The mod adds two brick families for building: Ruined Bricks and Carved Ruined Bricks. Both come in slab and stair forms — Ruined Bricks Slab, Ruined Bricks Stairs, Carved Ruined Bricks Slab, and Carved Ruined Bricks Stairs. These are produced with stonecutting, so place a stonecutter and feed it the base brick block to cut the shapes you want.

Carved Ruined Bricks are the decorative variant. Use them where you want pattern detail, and plain Ruined Bricks for large flat surfaces.

Wood Variants

Flywood and Rosewood each provide a slab, stairs, and trapdoor: Flywood Slab, Flywood Stairs, Flywood Trapdoor, Rosewood Slab, Rosewood Stairs, and Rosewood Trapdoor. Craft these from the corresponding wood planks at a crafting table.

Mix the two wood types for contrast on floors and ceilings, and use trapdoors as thin vertical accents or as functional hatch covers. Dried Thatch is another block worth placing in rustic builds — it pairs well with the ruined brick palette.

If you are planning a large structure, cut slabs and stairs in bulk first. Stonecutting one block at a time is slow, so stockpile Ruined Bricks and Carved Ruined Bricks before you start shaping them.
