Building with Shaded Stone Bricks and Their Variants

Base Blocks and Crafting

Shaded Stone Bricks are your starting decorative block. From them you can craft Shaded Stone Brick Slab, Shaded Stone Brick Stairs, and Shaded Stone Brick Wall using the crafting table. These three variants are also available through the stonecutter, which is the faster route when you are producing them in bulk.

Decorative Variants

Four additional looks are available: Chiseled Shaded Stone Bricks, Cracked Shaded Stone Bricks, Mossy Shaded Stone Bricks, and the base Shaded Stone Bricks themselves. Use the stonecutter to convert plain Shaded Stone Bricks into the chiseled, cracked, and mossy versions. Mix all four across a wall to break up flat surfaces.

Planning a Build

Lay a foundation of Shaded Stone Bricks, then ring it with Shaded Stone Brick Stairs for roofs and ledges. Use Shaded Stone Brick Walls as fencing or as pillars between windows. Slabs work for floors and half-height trim.

Combine the shaded palette with Grave Soil for a weathered ground layer, and place a Blight O'Lantern for lighting that matches the theme. A Hollow Spawner can be embedded in the structure if you want the build to serve a gameplay purpose rather than being purely decorative.
