Optimize Frame Rate on Low-End Hardware
Reduce Visual Quality Settings
ULS Shaders is designed for modest hardware, but you can push performance further. Open Shader Options and look for quality-related toggles:
- Disable or reduce shadow quality
- Lower reflection detail
- Reduce ambient occlusion intensity
Adjust Render Distance and Chunk Loading
In your main Minecraft Video Settings, lower render distance to reduce the area the shader must process. This has the biggest impact on frame rate. Paired with shader adjustments, this keeps your game smooth during survival play.
Monitor Performance
Enable the F3 debug screen to watch your FPS in real-time. Make one change at a time and explore for 30 seconds to see the actual impact. On integrated graphics like Intel UHD, even small reductions in shadow detail or reflection quality can yield noticeable frame rate gains without sacrificing the shader's colorful, clean aesthetic.
