Sorting Fluids with the Osmosis Filter

What the Osmosis Filter Does

The Osmosis Filter is the fluid-handling block in the network. Where a Filter or Multifilter sorts solid items, the Osmosis Filter works on fluids passing through the tube system. Place it inline on a tube run the same way you would place a Filter.

Building a Fluid Line

Set up the line with the same logic as an item line: an Extractor pulls from the source, tubes carry the contents, and a Loader inserts into the destination. Insert the Osmosis Filter between them to control which fluid continues down the branch.

Connect the Osmosis Filter with Tube blocks or colored tubes. Use Tubing Pliers to disconnect any side you do not want the fluid to travel through, so the flow follows only the intended path.

Routing Fluid Branches

If the fluid must reach more than one place, add a Distributor after the Osmosis Filter to split the stream. If two fluid lines need to combine, use a Shunt.

Keep fluid lines on their own tube color, separate from item lines, so you can trace them at a glance. Test the Osmosis Filter with a small amount of fluid first, confirm it routes correctly, then expand the network.
