Adjust Fog Density and Visual Atmosphere
Understanding Fog Behavior
True Snow Mod adds thick ground fog that rolls across snowy terrain, particularly on mountains and open plains. Fog density is tied to your location and weather conditions—it's thickest during storms and in exposed areas, lighter in forests and sheltered valleys.
Modifying Fog Appearance
Check your mod's configuration file for fog distance and density settings. These values control how far you can see through the fog and how opaque it appears. Adjusting these numbers lets you customize the balance between atmospheric immersion and visibility.
Testing Different Environments
Visit various cold biomes to see how fog behaves:
- Jagged Peaks: Dense fog rolling between mountain peaks
- Snowy Plains: Thick fog across flat terrain
- Frozen Oceans: Fog hugging the ice surface
- Groves: Lighter fog filtered through trees
Fog effects are client-side only, so your changes won't affect other players on multiplayer servers.
