Cooking Tropical Fish and Frog Legs
Raw catches from the tropics become better food once cooked. You have three heat sources to choose from: a furnace, a campfire, or a smoker. Each works on the same ingredients but at different speeds.
What You Can Cook
Cooked Fish, Cooked Frog Leg, and Cooked Ray are the three cooked results. Each has a matching raw form you obtain from fishing or hunting. Smelting in a furnace is the slowest but most reliable method. Campfire cooking is slower still but needs no fuel. Smoking is the fastest option if you have a smoker built.
Setting Up a Kitchen
Build a smoker or place a campfire near your Palm Boardwalk deck. Keep a Bamboo Chest stocked with raw catches so you can batch-cook. A Drink Mixer nearby lets you prepare Cocktails to go with meals.
Fuel and Batch Tips
For furnace smelting, use any burnable fuel. Load several raw items at once so you are not waiting per-piece.
Eating on the Go
Cooked Fish and Cooked Ray restore more hunger than their raw versions, making them ideal for long dives or jungle treks. Carry a stack in your inventory before exploring.
