Craft Your First Horse Tack Set in Survival Mode

Gathering Materials

Before you start crafting, collect the base materials needed for tack pieces. Most standard tack sets require common Minecraft resources like leather, wool, string, and dyes. Check your crafting recipes in-game by hovering over tack items in the creative menu to see what each piece requires.

Using the Crafting Table

Place a crafting table and open it. Arrange your materials according to the recipe pattern shown in your inventory. Standard tack pieces like halters, leg wraps, and blankets follow traditional crafting layouts. Craft one piece at a time, or gather enough materials to make complete sets.

Equipping Tack to Your Horse

Once crafted, approach a tamed horse while holding the tack item. Right-click the horse to equip it. You can layer multiple pieces—try combining a halter with leg wraps and a blanket for a fully outfitted horse. Different styles (English, Western, Adventure) can be mixed and matched based on your preference and available materials.

Storage Tip

Use the wooden tack boxes added by this mod to organize your crafted items in your stable. These provide dedicated storage without taking up regular chest space.
