How to Open Locks Without the Right Key
Using the Pilferer's Lock Pick
Locks in the Treasure 2 Mod come in tiers: Iron Lock, Gold Lock, Diamond Lock, Emerald Lock, Ruby Lock, Onyx Lock, Leaf Lock, Ember Lock, and Bone Lock. Each lock normally pairs with its matching key (Iron Key, Gold Key, Diamond Key, Emerald Key, Ruby Key, Onyx Key, Leaf Key, Ember Key, Bone Key). If you lack the key, craft a Pilferer's Lock Pick and use it on the locked container instead of the key.
Managing Keys With a Key Ring
If you carry many keys, combine them into a Key Ring so they occupy one slot. A Key Ring holds your collected keys and lets you open any matching lock you encounter without swapping items in your hotbar. Keep the Key Ring in your inventory while looting structures that use Bone Lock, Iron Lock, or higher-tier locks.
Progression Logic
Start with Iron Lock and Iron Key, which are the most common. As you find rarer materials, work up through Gold, Diamond, Emerald, Ruby, and Onyx tiers. Jewelled Key and Metallurgists Key are special keys that do not follow the standard tier ladder, so hold onto them when found. If a lock resists your current key, do not break the container — return with the correct tier or a Pilferer's Lock Pick.
