How to Find and Use Gravestones, Tombstones, and Gravestone Spawners

The Gravestone Family

Gravestones come in several material variants: Cobblestone Gravestone, Mossy Cobblestone Gravestone, Obsidian Gravestone, Polished Granite Gravestone, Smooth Quartz Gravestone, and Stone Gravestone. Each also has a Cross Gravestone version (Cobblestone Cross Gravestone, Mossy Cobblestone Cross Gravestone, Obsidian Cross Gravestone, Polished Granite Cross Gravestone, Smooth Quartz Cross Gravestone, Stone Cross Gravestone) and a Tombstone version (Cobblestone Tombstone, Mossy Cobblestone Tombstone, Obsidian Tombstone, Polished Granite Tombstone, Smooth Quartz Tombstone, Stone Tombstone).

Gravestone Spawners

Three blocks act as spawners: Cobblestone Gravestone Spawner, Obsidian Gravestone Spawner, and Stone Gravestone Spawner. Place one of these to generate gravestone-related activity in the area. Use them when you want a themed graveyard that produces content on its own rather than placing every gravestone by hand.

Building a Graveyard

Pick a base material — cobblestone, stone, obsidian, polished granite, or smooth quartz — and craft the matching Gravestone, Cross Gravestone, and Tombstone so the set stays visually consistent. Mix in a Spawner of the same material to keep the theme. Mossy Cobblestone variants work well alongside Strangle Vines and Spanish Moss for an overgrown look. Place gravestones in rows and leave walking space between them.
