Traveller's Boots MK3 and MK4 Upgrade Path

From MK2 to MK3

With Traveller's Boots MK2 equipped, return to your smithing table. Place MK2 in the base slot, then add the MK3 upgrade ingredient and the MK3 addition ingredient. The smithing_transform recipe outputs Traveller's Boots MK3 and consumes the MK2 pair. Equip MK3 before gathering anything for the next step.

From MK3 to MK4

The MK4 step follows the identical pattern. Open the smithing table, place Traveller's Boots MK3 in the base slot, add the MK4 upgrade ingredient and the MK4 addition ingredient, and take the Traveller's Boots MK4 from the output.

Keeping the Chain Intact

• Never place a lower tier in the base slot than the one you are upgrading from.
• Never split your pair across two upgrade attempts; the base slot takes the boots themselves.
• Confirm the output shows the next tier before removing it.

Why Order Matters

MK3 and MK4 are both smithing_transform results, so they cannot be crafted directly from raw materials. If you attempt a shaped crafting recipe for either tier, nothing will be produced. The only valid source of MK3 is MK2, and the only valid source of MK4 is MK3. Work the chain in order and each step resolves cleanly.
